In the 1881 census the Queen’s Head is shown to have an attached cottage in which a George Filer and family are living. The tenancy of Thomas Sparkes commenced on the 30th May 1938, the rent was £42 per annum. In 1949 Albert Bennett’s rent was also £42, the landlord was The Bristol Brewery Georges & Co. Ltd.
