On the corner with Greenbank Road the Cricketers’ Arms was destroyed in the blitz. The rent paid by William Crouch in 1934 was £67 per annum (£55 house, £12 adjoining cottage) this was increased to £75 on the 25th March 1938, the landlord was The Bristol Brewery Georges & Co. Limited. Prior to 1932 the Cricketers’ Arms was owned by the Ashton Gate Brewery Company.
