The Coronation Tap c1900, Landlord Henry Bonner is seen in shirt sleeves with daughter Hilda. The pub underwent extensive alterations by Bristol United Breweries Ltd. in 1940

A reminiscence from Dave Knowles: “Just reviewing old pubs of Clifton on your site. Brought back memories, however noticed the name of famed landlord of the Coronation Tap, in the 50s/60s One Dick (Richard) Bradstock esq., who ran this Famed House with a rod of iron, woe betide any customer caught “canoodling” (spooning!), or worse buying “ladies” pints!!! I recall being ‘banished’ for such reprehensible behaviour for a short time. Cordially David.”
