On the 29th September 1890, Bedminster Bridge brewers James & Pierce (Stephen George James, Robert Bartlett Pierce and Alfred Bartlett James) renewed their fourteen year lease on the Portwall House for a further fourteen years, the owner of the premises was Charles Harrison of Coronation Road. The rent was £30 per annum payable quarterly.
